Have you ever caught a glimpse of someone “floating” toward the front of the mat, catching air before silently landing? Perhaps you’ve experienced moments like this in your own practice but don’t always know how to access them.
In this workshop, we will explore common transitions such as chaturanga to upward facing dog to downward facing dog, and jumping forward, back, and through. We’ll also work on fun, less-traveled transitions, all involving weight bearing on the hands (and sometimes standing on them!). We will do specific exercises with props and partners to give the body a sense of what is needed to access lightness and control in transit.
Whether you are working on finding your first flight or looking to master how to float through your transitions, this workshop will give you the tools to move with grace from one pose to the next.
