Charity Class with Steph, Angela, and Christina

In the spirit of the positive energy around healthy, good food in Brooklyn, we’re honored to support the Brooklyn Community Foundation’s Caring Neighbors fund.

Saturday, November 19th
4:00 – 6:00pm
Suggested donation: $25

The Brooklyn Community Foundation is the first foundation devoted exclusively to raising money for Brooklyn and the effective nonprofits that address our borough’s housing, healthcare, and hunger needs. The Foundation’s Caring Neighbors Fund assists vulnerable Brooklyn families and individuals that have immediate food and housing needs.

Our goal is to raise $1,000 to combat hunger in Brooklyn this holiday season. These funds will go straight to Brooklyn’s food pantries that receive support from the Caring Neighbors Fund. 1 in 5 Brooklynites suffers from hunger or lives at the brink of hunger, unable to afford enough food at some point during the year. These 460,000+ Brooklynites rely on just 340 food pantries and soup kitchens, of which, last year 91% faced an increased demand for food and 40 percent were forced to reduce portion size, reduce hours of operation, and/or turn people away because they couldn’t meet demand.

Let’s extend the great community spirit of Mala off the mat this holiday season. Suggested donation is $25. You can donate even if you can’t attend the class.
