Courage

“With courage we openly acknowledge what we can’t control, make wise choices about what we can affect, and move forward into the uncultivated terrain of the next moment.”

– Sharon Salzberg

According to Sharon Salzberg, courage is measured in heart.  She writes, “To have courage…is to be full of heart.”  To dive into the unknown. To gear yourself up for every kind of failure, disappointment, or shortcoming, and to go head first anyway.  To embrace that which we do not know, and to embrace it as though it would play out exactly as we would want it to. That is courage.
